As we pack up the house, getting ready to move across the country things are starting to look bare. I guess this is what t.v. looks like when not much is left in the house :-)

The kids are excited for the trip across the country but the thought of leaving their home, friends and grandparents has been hard for them. But we are all looking forward to the adventure that lies ahead.

It is Friday, June 27th. Dave's parents are here helping mow the lawn and move boxes to the storage shed. Camdyn is sleeping on mattresses on the floor, his clothes are in a plastic bin, we have no couches in the house. The reality of the move is starting to set in. Last night after Tyler, Beccah, Trisha and Richard left I laid in bed just thinking of myself driving through the traffic of D.C. with the kids and I have to admit, it made me nervous.

I am used to the small town, run into everyone you know at the grocery store life. I must admit, I love the small town life and I don't think the excitement of the city will be able to take the small town girl out of me. Despite being nervous, there is a lot of excitement. Life is about change, it is about challenging yourself and having new experiences. What would life be like if we never took a leap of faith, if we never stepped outside our comfort zone, if we never tried something new and different? I'd have to say I think it would be extremely boring!

So here we are, 10 days away from the big move! The start date of our big cross country family adventure starts on July 7th. Or at least that is the tentative plan depending on when the house closes and we have the money in hand :-D

It is so beautiful here in Heber in the summer months. I plan on taking as many pictures as I can of the beautiful mountains, because Virginia just doesn't have mountains like Utah!

Well I'm off to do some more packing.
