The first stop

I highly recommend a vacation in steamboat springs, it is beautiful and there are a million things for families to do. My favorite part was that just about every restaurant has vegetarian options.....score!!!

Mommy and Kenzi on the lift going to the Alpine slide! Kenzi rode on the alpine slide all by herself. She was very brave. It was a relief to get to steamboat springs, it was one of our longest drives for the duration of the trip.










We didn't waste any time starting to enjoy the millions of things to do here. I would definately come back, it was a blast!




Camdyn is enjoying the lift ride to the alpine slide, this was actually our second time riding the alpine slide. The kids begged to go again, but $56 is a lot to spend on a short ride :-)

We found a fun Marriott hotel to stay in, we were really winging it on this trip, we did not have any hotels reserved because we weren't sure when we would be leaving. But it has all worked out wonderfully, we have found some fun places to stay.

Here I am with the kids, we are just about to load our sleds and go down the slide. It was a fun thing to do with the family.

This was our first activity, they also had mountain bike rentals, horseback riding, gondola rides, kids club and more..

Kenzi is cruising down the slide, I was very proud of her, she wasn't scared at all.

The photo on the left is a big bronze statue of a moose at the entrance of steamboat springs. You can tell that it was HUGE!!! Dave thought it was awesome so we took our picture standing under it.

The next photo on the right is, Daddy and the kids at the STINKY, sulfur hot springs!! You wouldn't want to swim in these hot springs, YUCK!! They were really cool though.

What would the family blog be without a photo of where the little doggies were staying. Yes, this is the 'hotel suite' where Toby and Katie stayed in Steamboat Springs! They were spoiled with play time in the mountains and their own suite.

It was the most adorable pet resort. I"m sure they enjoyed playing with the other dogs, but boy were they excited when we came to pick them up. They have been little angels in the car, that's more than I can say for the kids. :-D

This picture is a little hard to see, but Kenzi climbed to the top of the 35 foot, rock wall. She loved it, she looked like spiderwoman scaling the wall.





This was at the kids club at the bottom of the ski resort. You purchase tickets and the kids can enjoy a bunch of activities. They LOVED it!!! The dogs were chilling under the shade while the kids played.





Steamboat springs is a very friendly dog town. In fact dogs are allowed on the gondola and you see them up and down the streets eating at restaurants on the sidewalk with their owners, it's awesome.







Here's little Cam cam on the rock wall. He was much less interested in climbing than Kenzi was. He enjoyed it but he was happy climbing about 5 feet and then he was done and on to the next thing. That is very typical for cam, he's not competitive or intense at all, just happy to enjoy the ride. I guess he got that from mommy, he sure didn't get it from daddy!!!


It's getting late, we are in Denver today but I'm having a hard time keeping up with the posts. So I'll post the rest of steamboat springs and Denver tommorrow. We are off to Salina, KS in the morning....
